Yangtze River Elementary School

In Shi Gu Tang, a remote mountain village in the Guangdong Province of China, the Nathan Yip Foundation built a new 17,000 square foot school fully equipped with a library and athletic facilities. This Chinese mountain community is comprised of farm children whose parents cannot afford to send their children to school. At the school's opening dedication in 2004, the Yip family was honored as the school was named Hawlin Building after Nathan's Chinese name, which means heavy rain.

On an ongoing basis, the Foundation sponsors all 60 students at the new
school in Yang Da. The cost is $100 per
child to cover all educational supplies and school fees.
